Embroidery is the process of using industrial embroidery machines to apply logo’s and designs that have been digitized. Embroidery can only be done on apparel and fabric based items like sports bags / laptop sleeves, satchels, caps, bucket hats etc.
Benefits of Embroidery -
- Embroidery cost is based on stitch count not colours, so a multicoloured design costs the same a 1 colour design
- Once the original digitizing / set up fee is paid and the design is set up there are no repeat set up costs.
- Small orders are not as costly as small orders using other methods
- You can create a 3D effect
- Embroidery will in most cases exceed the life of the product it is applied to
Things to note
Complex designs may sometimes need to be simplified for embroidery purposes. Large designs – for example - a large back design on a t-shirt, are very costly due to the fact that the embroidery is charged out base on stitch count and also this can be very uncomfortable for the wearer. Embroidery cannot be done over seams ( except on some caps ) and the product needs to fit into a hoop.
